16oz dried navy beans
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup bourbon peach bbq sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp mustard powder
1 tbsp rib rub
1 tsp garlic paste
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup sweet bbq sauce
Cover navy beans with 2 inches of water. Bring to a boil. Turn heat off and let sit for an hour.
Drain beans.
Cover with fresh water and bring to a boil. Simmer for an hour.
*You want them soft not mushy
Drain beans but save liquid.
Put back on heat and add all the seasonings. Add in about 1/4 cup of reserved liquid. Adjust based on how thick you like the sauce.
Simmer for an hour on the stovetop.
Taste and adjust.
Need it sweeter? Add more brown sugar.
Need it tangier? Add more ACV
Need it smokier? Add more rib rub
Place in the oven on 250 degrees for an hour
Alternatively put it on your smoker at 250 for an hour or two for deeper flavor.
